This is a Permanent position in Dundee, Scotland posted January 13, 2020.

Working for a well-established fabrication company in Dundee, we are offering the opportunity for the right person with experience in a contracts manager position to work with steel fabrications and structures.

You will be ambitious, hard-working and the ability to progress within the company. Furthermore you will:

– have a minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar role

– have a management CSCS card as well as a SMSTS certificate

– have a full clean UK drivers licence

– experienced background in site installations of balustrades and staircases, general steel fabrications and secondary steelwork would be advantageous

You will take responsibility for numerous projects and co-coordinating staff under the senior operations manager. Further duties include:

– ensuring relationships are maintained with all internal and external customers

– team motivation through leading by example

– communicating with the production manager to ensure time management

– communicating with the drawing office manager and draughtsperson(s) to make sure drawings are ready for the site operatives to carry out their tasks and let them know of any changes or problems

– communicate any alterations or delays that may mean a cost or production implication to the senior operations manager to ensure any changes are dealt with correctly

– attend meetings and issue reports when needed

– follow all health and safety procedures, ensuring work is carried out safely. Carry out site safety audits and feed this back to the director for any necessary changes

– co-ordinate site labour teams for maximum results

– undertake site surveys and communicate with the clients team to come to agreed conclusions on installation programmes, installation methods and sequence of works

– resolve any queries and plan the methodology of approach
