We are currently recruiting an experienced Mechanic on behalf of our client in Perthshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the troubleshooting and repairs of our client’s vehicles which will include but not be limited to; trailers and plant machinery and may also include the senior management vehicle fleet.

Key Activities:

  • Carry out cost effective major and minor mechanical repairs to Group fleet.
  • Liaise with Supervisor to ensure that all materials/parts are ordered and at hand to support timely repairs.
  • Comply with the requirements of a safe working environment following the H&S policy and applying safe working principles.
  • Carry out timely routine servicing on all Group vehicles, mobile plant and machinery.
  • Maintain and report servicing records for all Group vehicles, mobile plant and machines.
  • Supervision of Mechanic Apprentice(s)
  • Attend, participate and contribute to meetings ensuring appropriate up to date information is communicated and acted upon.
  • Develop and maintain relationships within other functions within the company to develop a full understanding of customer expectations to ensure that service meets expectations.

Essential requirements:

  • Trade Certification – Mechanical Engineering (Heavy), NVQ LVL 3 mechanic or equivalent qualification as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic.
  • Time served experience post trade qualification as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic.
  • Experience working on Heavy Duty equipment
  • Strong understanding in the diagnostics, fault finding and analysis of Heavy-Duty equipment.
  • Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repair experience.
  • Current Driver’s License.
