ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To prepare the manual scoreboard prior to the round you are scheduled to work.
  • Carry a manual scoreboard around The Open course.
  • Keep players scores up to date on each carry board for the benefit of spectators.
  • Liaison with the walking scorer and referee on correct scores.
  • To be available to carry the manual scoreboard at all times on each of the

Championship days of play. You must be prepared to carry a scoreboard/be available between 6am and 10pm depending upon tee times and the game you are allocated.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous scoreboard carrier experience is useful but not essential.
  • Previous Open experience is not required but would be useful.
  • Having an interest in golf is essential.

SKILLS

  • Basic mathematical skill and counting ability.
  • Good golf knowledge and golf etiquette would be useful.
  • Flexibility to pick up more shifts and help out the team.
  • This role requires you to be able to walk the 18 holes per day, and be on your feet for long periods of time.
  • This role requires you to carry a scoreboard for 18 holes which means you must be able to physically carry the board for 18 holes.
